My name is Taryn Catherine, (yes Catherine is my surname and not a double barrel first name) and I was born on 17 August 1987. I have a passion to work with youth and feel a calling on my life into youth ministry. I therefore went to Cornerstone Christian College and attained my Bachelor in Theology. God then opened the doors for me to become a youth worker for Gateway Youth Foundation and am currently placed full time in Bellville High School as of 20 July 2009. A youth worker is the same as a youth pastor that works full time in a school. I am in charge of all the Christian activities that happen within the school and also do a lot of counselling. Due to my love and passion for sport, I coach and umpire hockey at the school and minister to a lot of kids this way. I personally am playing for Mutual hockey club and enjoy every minute of it. God also blessed me with an amazing job here at DMC. I started working as the part time youth pastor in March 2010. I am mainly involved with junior and senior youth and then attend the evening services. I help out in the worship band and young adult cell groups. I am also a local preacher in training so keep your eyes and ears open as you might see me from time to time. |
