As a Society Stewart who is nearing the end of my three year term, I reflect on how it has been my pleasure to serve a church that has gone through a time of change for the better. I am privileged to have Sean Currie as the commissioner of my portfolio, namely Worship and Prayer. Sean has made a lot of changes to enhance the musical and visual presentation standards of our church. Sean is also very committed to enhancing the prayer life of our church community. On a personal level, I have been married to Elise for almost 19 years. We have two boys, Michael (16yrs) and Matthew (12 yrs), both of whom were christened in the Methodist Church with Michael recently being confirmed in DMC. I have been a Methodist since childhood, and have been a member of Durbanville Methodist Church since 1998 when we moved here from Mpumalanga. I have witnessed various ministers come and go, and am confident in saying that I am very proud of the current staff of DMC, and of the contribution they all make to the success of our church. |
